Drivers, Trucks, & Shipments

Our commitment to keeping transport safe

We continuously strive for operational excellence designed to ensure that every driver, every truck, and every shipment arrives safely.  We are proud that our efforts have also kept work-sites and public roads safe.  Our commitment is expressed in the following ways:

Support safety organizations – Whitewood actively supports the Motor Carriers of Montana, MCM Safety Maintenance and Management Council, and grass-roots programs such as Share the Road.

Monthly safety updates – We publish monthly safety updates in the Whitewood Wire. Topics highlighted include new legislation affecting safety standards and compliance, statistics and studies on transportation safety, as well as news concerning the efforts of local transport safety organizations.

Annual blood drive – Whitewood hosts an annual blood drive to augment blood supplies during the holiday season, one of the most dangerous times of the year on the road.

Safety Director, Stacey Hemming – Whitewood’s Safety Director, Stacey Hemming, holds multiple transport safety credentials, was recognized as the 2003 and 2010 Safety Director of the Year, and was the 2006-2007 Chair of the MCM Safety Management & Maintenance Council. She received her Certified Director of Safety designation from NATMI in July, 2009.

Every driver at every stage of every shipment – Whitewood has earned regional and national recognition for safety in the trucking industry from the American Trucking Association, Motor Carriers of Montana, Specialized Carrier & Rigging Association, and Great West Casualty Company. In 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012, our fleet won 1st place for zero accidents in the 750,000 to 1,500,000 Montana Miles category from Motor Carriers of Montana.
